Nestled in the heart of Hudson’s vibrant First & Main district, Peg’s Gallery was envisioned as a home for Peg’s Foundation and a welcoming beacon that celebrates the power of art and beauty in mental health.
Designed to honor the late founder Peg Morgan and her guiding mantra to “Think Bigger,” the space challenges outdated perceptions of mental illness and works to eliminate stigma.

Embodying the Mission of Peg's Foundation
This project was born from a desire to foster community engagement and reflect the Foundation’s mission: improving the lives of people with mental illness through the beauty and power of art. The 9,500-square-foot gallery space embodies the Foundation’s spirit of bold ideas, innovative solutions, and systemic change for mental wellness.
A Destination for the Whole Family
The design invites people of all ages to connect, explore, and create. Family-friendly galleries feature meandering paths created by mobile walls, guiding visitors through a rich, ever-changing experience with joyful surprises tucked along the way—including a playful “peg wall” (pun intended!) where children can interact with colorful pegs and magnetic tiles. Peg understood that creating art can be just as healing as viewing it—and this space ensures everyone has the chance to engage in that process.
An Artistic Beacon in Downtown Hudson
From the earliest concept through final execution, this project was brought to life through a close collaboration with Peninsula Architects. Together, we worked to craft a space that is as functional as it is inspiring—balancing architectural elegance with the warmth and accessibility needed for a true community destination. The first-floor gallery is a centerpiece—inviting, calming, and accessible to all. +Detail infused the space with a welcoming aesthetic that complements the surrounding Hudson community. The flexible layout supports rotating exhibitions, events, and moments of quiet reflection, making Peg’s Gallery a central hub for art, healing, and engagement.
Designing for Flexibility & Unity
Interior finishes were selected for their simplicity, warmth, and continuity, creating a seamless experience across all spaces. Clean lines and neutral materials keep the focus on the artwork, while movable walls allow the space to transform to suit events of any size or purpose. Whether hosting an intimate workshop or a public exhibition, the space adapts with grace and ease.

Carrying Peg's Legacy Forward
From a child-friendly tactile nook under the stairs to the bold peg wall and an artful display of Peg’s logo, every design detail reflects Peg Morgan’s legacy and the Foundation’s enduring impact. The gallery’s mobile wall systems underscore this mission—supporting dynamic programming and ever-evolving community needs.
Inclusive by Design
Inclusivity shaped every part of the design. Mobile reception desks, adaptable gallery walls, and sensory-sensitive elements ensure the space feels safe, welcoming, and accessible to all. Interactive pockets—especially those designed for children—create meaningful moments of connection and creativity, regardless of age or ability.
A Sanctuary of Healing through Art
Peg’s Gallery stands as a testament to the power of thoughtful design—creating a space where function meets purpose, and where art and healing come together in service of community. It’s a sanctuary, a beacon of hope, and a place of inspiration in the heart of downtown Hudson.
While we at +Detail didn’t have the privilege of knowing Peg Morgan personally, we’ve come to know and deeply respect the people who now carry her legacy forward. Their dedication to honoring Peg’s vision and advancing mental health awareness through beauty, art, and community has inspired us every step of the way.
It was a true honor to help bring this mission to life. Peg’s passion lives on through this space, in the people it serves, and in the tireless efforts of those who continue her work. We’re grateful to have played a part in this journey—and Peg’s story has left an imprint on our hearts, reminding us all to “Think Bigger.”
