+Detail embarked on a transformative journey when designing Connor Whole Health, a holistic health and wellness center.
The visionary project resonated deeply with the project team as they were driven by the opportunity to create a space aligned with the generous Connor family's vision. +Detail was eager to emphasize the restorative power of integrative medicine while upholding the esteemed University Hospitals brand.
The Power of Collaboration
From the onset, it was evident that the project team needed to be aligned with the passions and values of the Connor family and University Hospitals. Geis, the project architect, worked closely with key decision-makers to truly understand the desired look, feel, and performance of the space. Recognizing the importance of creating an environment where restorative wellness begins upon entry, +Detail was entrusted to bring this vision to life.
A Holistic Design Approach
Connor Whole Health encompasses a variety of office types, accommodating diverse complementary medicine practices such as Acupuncture, Art Therapy, Chiropractic, Integrative Medicine, Integrative Occupational Therapy, Massage Therapy, Meditation, Mindfulness, Music Therapy, Stress Management, Resilience Training, Yoga Therapy, Integrative Psychiatry, Naturopathic Wellness, Osteopathic Sports Rehabilitation, and Guided Imagery.
Understanding the significance of finishes in creating a space that exudes a natural, soft, organic, and comforting ambiance, +Detail made thoughtful selections.
Nature’s Touch
The building's prominent presence along the highway beckons visitors inside, greeted by an abundance of natural light that permeates the two-story glass structure. Earthy, warm tones and ample natural light are celebrated throughout, infusing the space with organic tranquility. Softness and moments of cheerfulness are introduced through carefully placed pops of color.
Providing Tranquility
Thoughtful selections of finishes echo the therapeutic properties of nature, fostering a sense of ease and comfort. Organic patterns with subtle movements grace the flooring, creating a soothing environment. Throughout the building, organic form ceiling clouds create aesthetic and peaceful spaces. Reception desks feature rounded edges, welcoming patients with an inviting and calming atmosphere.
Effortlessly Blending Architectural Essence with a Powerful Mission
A notable design highlight is the enchanting interactive intention wall on the second floor. Positioned strategically to face I-271 South, this architectural marvel is a captivating beacon for passersby on the highway. It seamlessly integrates with the space, becoming a focal engagement point.
The intention wall invites visitors to participate in an engaging experience. They are encouraged to write their daily intentions on round, dry-erase, magnetic pucks and place them on the wall wherever they choose. Over time, these intentions form an ever-evolving, organic work of art, transforming the wall into a captivating masterpiece visible to onlookers from the outside.
This interactive creation exemplifies +Detail's exceptional thoughtfulness in design, effortlessly blending the architectural essence of the space with the profound mission and vision of Connor Whole Health.
